She was never meant to shrink.

Build The Woman exists for one reason: too many gifted, called, capable women are running businesses that are running them.

We are Jason and Nevette Ramos. We built our life on the belief that a woman does not have to choose between her faith, her family, and her ambition. She was built to lead all of them.

Our Journey

How we actually got here.

Resources vs. Resourcefulness

It started in our living room and a tiny room in the back of the tattoo shop.

No big office. No team. Just a chair, a light, and a decision to figure it out with whatever we had.

Building

So we did what driven people do. We built. And built. And built.

One location became another. One idea became a system. We didn't stop to ask if it was sustainable, we were too busy proving it could work.

Family

While building, we became parents.

Not long after, we learned our son was autistic. The balance we thought we were building toward stopped being possible. There was no day off, no clocking out, no one else who could step in. We had not built a business. We had built a job, and we were prisoners of our own invention. If either of us left for even a single day, the whole thing started to fall apart.

More revenue did not buy us freedom.

It bought us more responsibility.

The Beginning Of Build The Woman

So we redesigned everything. And we never built the old way again.

So we got rid of that prison. We started completely from scratch. For a while, that meant the three of us sleeping on the floor of an empty apartment, on one inflatable mattress, learning what we actually needed instead of what we thought we had to have. We were recording with our phones and teaching on a paper whiteboard.

Starting over, from scratch

This is the turning point.

We stopped asking “How do we make more?” and started asking “How do we build this so it no longer owns us?”

We built the old model.
We paid the price.
We redesigned it.
Then we helped women in different industries do the same.
